Benevolence
Our benevolence program is designed to help individuals with special needs in our community whether it is through providing food, clothing, or shelter. Our food pantry stays stocked with food throughout the year so that we can always be prepared for those who hunger and thirst. Greenwood Park seeks to live by Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25.

Missions
The missions program is overseen by a missions committee and their mission is to promote and support mission efforts in Kentucky, the United States and the whole world. Currently, we are supporting full-time Jonas and Brenda Chavez in Managua, Nicaragua and Luis and Claudia Betanco in Bogotá, Colombia, and partially support a missionary in China. We also support students at the Baxter Institute in Honduras and a preacher training school in the Ukraine. We send funds annually to Operation Heat Relief for churches in Bulgaria and support short term mission trips to Australia, Honduras, Nicaragua, Brazil, Peru, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico and parts of the United States. Members of the missions committee regularly attend services at the church in Green County, which we have supported for many years.

Christian Counseling Center
Greg Elliot, Counseling Minister
The counseling program was established in 1998 to provide professional counseling from a Christian perspective. The purpose for the program has always been to help those who are hurting to heal. Within this framework a wide variety of topics can be covered, from grief to anxiety, depression to anger. Each can have a significant impact on a person’s ability to deal with life effectively. Being able to provide godly help and support to individuals, couples and families in their time of need will remain the primary focus for the program.

The Good Samaritans
The Good Samaritans of Greenwood Park is a ministry designed to help those persons that either through sickness or injury, find themselves in one of our local hospitals. The ministry is designed to help encourage hospital patients as well as their friends and family through visitations, calls, encouragement cards and any other means of encouragement. Our list of patients will include GWP members, families and friends as well as persons from other areas that find themselves in local hospitals for their hospital needs. If anyone knows of someone that could benefit from this ministry, please call the church office at (270) 781-0700.
We will keep our membership updated with the latest hospital information through the following means: a list that can be found at the Welcome Center at Greenwood Park Church of Christ, an electronic update via the GWP website, and an electronic update via email with members that allow us to do so. All members of GWP are encouraged to get the latest information and either visit, make telephone calls or send encouragement cards to everyone on the list. Also, there is a group of people that work directly with this ministry. Each week, there will be a minimum of two people (Good Samaritans) sent to each hospital. |

Greeters Ministry
Greenwood Park’s Greeter Ministry seeks to make every visitor that walks through our doors feel welcome. Our greeters will meet you out in the parking lot and escort you in. If you need assistance parking your car our greeters will do that also. Our greeters want to pray to for every visitor that comes our way. It is important that everyone feels welcome worshipping with this church family.

Prayer Warriors
Greenwood Park’s Prayer Warriors receive prayer request cards that any member or visitor can fill out during our worship time on Sunday mornings. They commit to praying for that prayer request everyday for a whole week. Most of our Prayer Warriors keep praying much longer than that, but the commitment is for one week. Prayer is so important in the life of a church and Satan will do all he can to keep us from talking with our Father in Heaven, but our Prayer Warriors battle on! |
