CONNECTING

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:46-47

These ministries are characterized by relationship building.
Minister — Wes Claiborne |
Elders — David Dunn and Charlie Owens

Family Groups
Coordinator: Mark Miller

The purpose of our Family Group ministry is to provide opportunities for members of the congregation to be in a small group for Bible study, worship and fellowship. The more intimate setting allows members to create deeper, more meaningful relationships. These take place on Sunday nights in homes throughout Warren County and at the church building. In addition to weekly Bible study, our groups take care of physical needs, such as providing food for those who are in need and hosting bridal and baby showers. You can be involved in our Family Group ministry by attending or inviting a friend, offering to host a study or volunteer to lead or co-lead a group.

Youth Ministry
Coordinator: Wes Claiborne and Kerry Young

The purpose of Canvas, Greenwood Park’s youth ministry, is to Nurture a relationship with God, Encourage the development of meaningful relationships with each other, and to Teach others about God’s love. We seek to accomplish these goals through a schedule of activities and events for students in 7th—12th grades, including Bible classes, retreats, youth rallies and fun events. You can be involved by offering to host an activity at your home, attending an upcoming event as a chaperone, teaching a Bible class or attending an event to get to know our teens.

Communication
Coordinator: Todd Gibbs

The purpose of our communication ministry is to promote upcoming events to members of the congregation and encourage participation and involvement. This will include the inclusion of information in the church bulletin, posters and other signage about activities to come and pictures of past events. You can be involved in this by communicating information to Mik that needs to be distributed to the congregation as a whole. You can also submit pictures of events to Mik.

Apples of Gold
Coordinator: Vivian McClellan

Apples of Gold is a ministry in which several older women of the congregation mentor younger women to encourage them in their development into Christian women. This program consists of six sessions involving a meal and Bible Study in different homes. The true strength of the program lies in the depth of relationships that are formed and last long after the classes are over. If you would like to be involved in Apples of Gold please contact Vivian McClellan.

Greeter Ministry
Coordinator: Todd Mason

The purpose of the Greeter Ministry is to improve our ability to identify visitors to our services and help them get connected to others. We plan to do this by being more purposeful in our efforts to meet visitors, find out about them and provide opportunities for them to plug in to the life of the body at Greenwood Park. This is a new ministry that is still being developed, and as we have opportunities for your involvement we will let you know. In the meantime, you can be involved by being a greeter to those around you. Do more than say “Hi,” and make an effort to learn more about those you don’t know.

Attendance
Coordinator: Steve Guess

The purpose of the Attendance ministry is to identify those who are members of our church family and make every effort to meet their needs. We want to avoid the tendency of a larger congregation to let their members “slip through the cracks” by being acutely aware of our members and their needs. We believe that by being observant of changes in attendance patterns we can do a better job of reaching out to those in need. You can be involved by using the membership cards when they are introduced.
